The lack of a lens hood doesn't worry me so much. It's more the amount of vignetting that worries me if I put on my B+W 110 onto the wide anlage and after that the polarizer. That will vignet as hell! Furthermore the optical quality wont be that good. Even if they both are B+W attached to an 16-35L.

Just finished another one :)

I agree and it is a great plan... What to do about the lack of a lens hood?

If I really need the hood, I just set the CP first, then put the hood on. If not, I just go without it. I usually have the hood on though, so yes, it's a couple of extra steps to take it off, put the CP on, adjust it, and put the hood back on, but so is using a tripod, going out at sunset, checking my angle to the sun, and to the vehicle, etc. All of these are extra steps that add up in the end.

Thanks for the info Will. Fantastic pictures.

Are you sure the pole is 2.5"? That exceeds the opening/clamping capability of super clamps (2.1").

Looks like 2" OD with about 1.5mm wall, same as mine.

My couplers are being machined right now, can't wait till it's finished! Also I'm suprised at the price most people are paying for their alu tube, I bought a 6.5m length of 50mm OD x 1.6mm wall for $38.50 and they even cut it into the lengths I wanted.

The best shot from my first attempt. I know I need to work on my PP, it'll get better though, I should have a few more cars next week to play with.

The F1000's were all sold out so I picked up some F1100's, It'll be more work but I'll be able to make due.

My setup:
