Haven't done this in awhile. I looked like a complete noob trying to remember how to adjust my camera setting in front of the car owner

Hi everyone

Because of this fantastic Thread and your awesome Pictures, I decided to build up my own RIg.
First I tried to make a Rig out of an Poolcleaning-Pole and this came out.

It was totaly unstable and very short, so a Friend of mine helped me out to make a better one. 4x pieces of 1.50meter x 50mm Aluminiumpole. I ordered F1000 Suction Cups, some Superclamps and a Magic Arm from B&H. And the Results got much sharper, cleaner and perfecter than befor.

What do you guys think about my shots? What could I do better?

Another Question is, how are shots from Motorcycles possible?
Because the Persone which helped me out with building the Rig, has a Kawasaki Ninja. I like to make some Pictures of his Ride, but I have no idea how?

1. not so much blur. Everything else is amazing.
2. Yes its possible. I made some rigshots with a motorcycle (no complete shot). But in the summer holidays I will try out my 4m rig. The fixture is already made.

Getting into rig shots too, Rivest? :) I've had all the parts for my rig sitting in my garage for a month now and still haven't taken the time to go try it out, lol. One of these days.

I am working with a friend on making a boom at his machine shop. I have two choices for tubing, both 2"OD but the wall thickness are different. One is the smaller .065" or the larger .125". Knowing that I will have a D3s off of this boom. Any experiences using either one of these wall thicknesses?

Any help would be great!

Hi Geoff, looks like you and I are almost on the way to getting a boom together. Well, I ordered 3 pieces of 5' length, 2" OD with .125" wall and it was a mistake. When I picked them up at the local metal shop, they were way too heavy. Each piece weighs approximately 4.5lbs and I didn't even bother dry fit them into full length. At that weight in full length could be lethal. So, I need to go back and get 1.75" OD with .065" wall. This basically will cut the weight in 1/2 and should be more manageable. I have an idea to stiffen the boom (without wire)... will see how this works out in a week or two.

^ agreed, I chose the .065" wall 50mm and I'm glad I did. The .125" in 50mm would be way too heavy and I don't believe it would really be THAT much stiffer anyway.

He also found today .083 wall but in a smaller OD so he is checking on it in 2 OD which would be perfect I think. Any input on .083 wall
