First rig shot in a while...finally something I can post in here!

QUOTED IMAGE

Shot using my RIG-PRO setup with a 7D hanging off the far side.

It's nice ... but looks to cartoony to me ... just doesn't look real.

It's because of the level of contrast/color, the light inside the shadow, and the perfection of it all, gives it a digital appearance. Nothing wrong with that IMO.

+1 sure it looks fake like hell, but damn it's nice if you can process like that :)

That is seriously cool. for the commercial do they "edit" the rig out... I only put that in quotes because I'm unfamiliar with how/if they "remove" the rig from each frame of video?

I just strung together a simple tension cable for my rinky dinky conduit rig and my roommate let me take his challenger out for a few test shots. rig was pretty cheap and gets the job done. I am going to be looking at something longer like what a lot of posters use like ~15ft or so but going to look into getting the stuff threaded/sleeved myself at a local shop or even in the machine shop in my school.

any tips or pointers welcome.

Most seem to be going witha 15" length, 3 pieces around 5' each seems to work & allow easy transport...

Damn, looks like I missed the party a few pages back.

Also, Ronaldo. Killing it as usual.

For that Jetta shot, how do you guys set up a rig shot during the daytime? Unless that road is seldom traveled...
