Got the 17-40L to get on my future RIG, would a sigma 15mm be better ( lighter and wider ) for this kind of jobs? Or is the 17-40L more then enough? :)

The best lens is the widest you can get (not a fisheye), and as light as possible.

Nothing really epic. Just testing out my new Hoya x64 ND filter with my Rig Pro setup.

I understand what you're saying, but the truth is, very few people make a DIY rig that is a.) safe, and b.) giving them the results that they wanted when they first saw a rig-shot. I provide a product that does both. Of course, it doesn't belong in a DIY thread, we all know that, but this is the Internet, no one is going to follow those rules, and many people consider the shot itself is DIY, not necessarily the kit used. I have cut out all of my "buy Rig-Pro and you'll be set" posting, but I can't help cheering someone on when they post a fantastic result using my kit. Not sure what else to say/do.

I give visual echos props for making an breeze for some of us to get a rig. If i haven't went thru the painful trouble of making my own diy and finding a metal shop to lathe the pipes. I would have support his rig pro as well!

I kind regret that I didn't get the easy option at the time to just buy rig pro but I'm happy with my rig and i know its own cons and pros inside out and what I can improve on my own. Its a learning process for me =)

Its great to see how much rig pro has grown lately!

Ill put some info in for ya

Diy self made rig about 18ft 4 sections of 4s my inserts are 1.5 ft each but its not lathe all the way down so I have only 5 inches of the insert lathe down on each side. It kind of works for me to moung the rig on the inserts sometimes than the actual pipe so it doesn turn too much.

i used a hoya 3.0 - 1000x i forgot its the one you can't see anything out of it except in live view lol...

I used anywhere between 2-4 second exposure and had him drive the car slowly and picked out the best picks. I was shooting it for a favor for phenomenal vinyl.

It was a hot day so only did rigging for like half an hour.
Used 2 woods film cups and a third avenger for stablizing. since the car is a full wrap we did not touch the roof.

I don't think it was a bad job could have got a sharper shot as well as wider.

Dunno if I will keep this boom, I'm gonna probably getting a more thicker one. These are 1,2" diameter, I think I need a little bigger then this. Just to be safe. Now just waiting for the rest of the stuff from Andrew :)

Hey guys, what remote trigger would you recommend for rigshots? Is possible to use IR triggers?

I have Pixel King for flashes, but I am not sure if it works as wireless shutter. http://www.pixelhk.com/Proshow.aspx?id=101 (external link)
