i understand what your getting at and not sure exactly why it records this like sometimes, but i still think it has something to do with angle/acceleration rate. i shot this last night and it has the same effect, look at the tire. if it were a longer exposure it would be a solid blur, a little shorter and it shows like this with just less "copies" of the image. Though not a rig shot its has similar attributes.

QUOTED IMAGE

is that a flash on the ground to camera right? if so, that is what caused the several tire exposures rather than a smooth blur. it looks like the flash went off twice while the truck was launching

Hi guys, could use a help or advice about this pic. Friend of mine wanted me to rig his Audi before he switch to winter tires, but weather during these days is extremely foggy. So I shot this and I don't know, how to improve skies. I tried to add some clouds found on google, but it looked to obvious :/

Here is DNG file, feel free with any improvements: http://www.edisk.cz …_skies-1.dng_71.36MB.html (external link)

I would advise against using anything you find on Google, as you don't own those pictures. If you want sky, you can take your own pics of the sky. But for this pic in particular, I have three suggestions to try:
1. Cut out the road and car, and insert them into a location shot you'll be taking in the next week or so. Look around for locations with this shot in mind.
2. Crop the pic from the center right, so there isn't as much sky to begin with.
3. Mask out the car, and blow out the highlights in the sky and road, making a high-key image. Then put a cool gradient filter over the sky and road, making them contrast more with the car.

I have a ton of gear, but my gear is just a hammer.

The problem with dropping a sky on that will be tone and colour choice

As it was foggy day its essential you are subtle with the sky, keeping in mind its reflected in the sides of the car too

On the rig shot if your merging a static with a moving shot I would suggest you bring some movement into the reflections in the paint.

Or at least retouch the guy who is stood next tot he car and is showing next to the right hand rear light !! ;-)a

I used motion blur for effect but you will have the image with real movement that you could use

Also left the gezza in!

Been out practising again. Still unsure if my boom bounces too much. I might have too much weight on the end of it perhaps.

Here is the latest attempt...

Thanks! about skies found on google, I tried it only to see if the pic can be improved by this, but if it'd be acceptable, I'd shot my own skies of course :-) I'll definitely try version with high-key skies/road, but first I need to learn how to do it :-D

You kinda opened my eyes with your version, thanks! :-) will try to do it on my own. About replacing car from a static shot. I'm not really friend with my DIY rig so far and after several hours of shooting, I'm just pissed every time the picture come out blurry. But your way of blurring reflections on a static car looks very good, I really appreciate your help.
