Nov 23, 2015 12:09 | #11646 When shooting inside a garage, is the indoor lighting sufficient to get the car bright enough or should i consider alternative sources of lighting? http://www.sergeygrey.com/

with a multiple second exposure, you shouldn't have an issue with amount of lighting anywhere. In fact, I use an ND most times. -Jayson- my flickr

But I imagine this depends on the specific garage you're shooting in, and if you need to use a CPL or not. IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/dRudKe

Dark cars will probably need some help with the reflected highlights. Here's an example of a black Chrysler 300 posted by spot9 in The automotive strobist setup pic thread. Anyway, nice shot. Do you ever skew the photo? You might try it, it'd really help with that distortion.

If you're just shooting for you, or private clients, then I wouldn't bother with it. But if you're wanting to take your photography to the next level, it's definitely something that needs to be addressed. From the base image you can do better by using a longer boom and 20mm on FF, which is what I do, and what a lot of other guys do. You can also situate the car closer to the middle of the frame, and crop for artistic merit later. Lastly, you can alter your angle a bit here and there to make the distortion less visible as well.
