If you are steady enough, you can do those shots with OUT a rig. There was no rigs on these.

Yeah, and they look nothing like Rig shots..... Sorry but you're not the first to ever suggest doing rolling shots instead of rig shots. You can't always get the same angles and effect.

ive thought that truck shot has always looked like a rig shot due to the lowness and how close it is to the truck. I literally had my camera dragging the ground.

Its a great shot and looks alot like a rig shot, but its alot different from a rig shot. You can tell the speed was low when the truck shot was taken. Rig shots give an effect of intense speed while keeping the car in rock solid focus (when done correctly hehe).

I'd never even heard about rigging until tonight! I'm extremely impressed by the artwork and the extremes that you all have gone to get these shots! Look forward to making my own rig someday. Thanks again for all the info in this thread!

any particular reason you went with that one over the others?

Nah, this was the one they had in stock at that time.

I've bought a couple glass/tile lifters to make up a rig and tried on the car screen but they seem to have left ring like marks where they were. I'm wondering if i put them on panels will they scratch the paint? if they do, is there any way round so they don't?
