I agree. It looks over built & under engineered to me, too. I doubt that the lens can take much pressure.

it looks like the u-bolt is just to keep it in place if the tripod screw comes loose. I doubt he's actually cranking down on the lens.

Well tonight was my first outing with the new camera (Nikon D750) and I had been hired to shoot a super car so no pressure!!! The camera was fantastic and the 16-35mm f4 lens pin sharp! I dont know why I waited so long to go full frame!
