Ok so I've searched and searched and can't find what I'm looking for - sorry if this is a stupid question :(

A couple months ago I jumped into my first dslr with a xti - Loving it just wish I had more time to practice the many options...
I also bought a cheap flash from ebay... suntax 9000ets.
says it can be used as master or slave. I've been just using it as master. If I want to use it as a wireless slave flash is there a way not to have the flash on the camera go off???
Sorry I don't know all the technical terms - Hope I didn't get anything confused...

Thanks for you help.

Kim ;)

If it is one of the cheap flashes that has a built in optical sensor then you have to use the on camera flash to trigger it.

Or you can buy some radio triggers off ebay or something fo cheap to fire it.

A cheap option to radio triggers is a sync cord. Flash Zebra sells them among many other places.
