I have noticed a couple of members recently have a note under their user name saying that they have been banned from the forums.

Out of curiosity I went through their recent posts and couldn't see any nastiness or anything banworthy.

So, what kinds of things do people get themselves banned for in this place? I have been here for a little while now and have yet to come across anyone that deserved anything more than hitting round the head with a rolled-up newspaper, such is the relaxed nature of this place.

Mike

i refuse to answer this on the grounds that I dont want to be banned!
lol,lol,lol..

actually it could be for any number of reasons... maybe sending nasty PM's or arguing with admins or mods on the side.. or their offending posts have been deleted... who knows why!

Reasons for banning are never discussed in public, but members who are banned are usually given many opportunities to avoid the status change. It's one of the rules the Mods live by, even when it results in them taking some unfair criticism from folks who don't know the whole story. It truly is a last resort here, unlike some other places I've seen.

And it's almost certain that the most ban-worthy of posts are removed from public view.
