Hi, I have a SD600 and after some heavy use, the screen got lots of tiny scratches on it and covering most of the screen. The LCD function perfectly but just not as aesthetically pleasing as it was when it was brand new.

Are there any cleaning/buffing products out there that will remove/smooth out the tiny scratches that are on the screen so that it kind of restores the original shinyness?

Thanks.

Anybody? When I do a google search, they are all to clean the lens from dirt and grime and such. Is there any buffing agent that will try to remove the microscratches?

There are lots of products out there like this one.

Do a Google search on polycarbonate scratch remover.

However, I am venturing a guess that it would be easier to replace the whole screen. Give Canon a call an see what they charge for a replacement screen. The usually come out with a hair dryer and a suction cup. I’m guessing it’s about $10~$15.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

Thanks, I'll try to check out the scratch remover.

Just called Canon and they say that replacing the screen would cost about $100 since it will still be considered standard repair?

EDIT: anyone tried ICE Creme? http://www.radtech.us/products/Icecreme.aspx (external link)

Screens on the P&S aren't the same as those on the EOS. No heavy duty cover.
