Great shots spoiled by ridiculous watermarking.

Reason for those abundant watermarks is they are prints and many in my area use them on their sites/myspace and I purposely started putting a ton of ugly watermarks just for that.. When they get a print I send them a web copy with just one watermark too. I hardly see them as being spoiled, maybe spoiled for a thief yes.

I understand that, I used to do the same. But now I don't use a watermark on any photos I post on POTN, since I doubt anyone will also frequent this forum and take them. So I put them up on imageshack and post them in all their 'glory' here! :p

Caught the moment pefectly though! The second is my favourite, those Camaro's look so perfect for their style. I bet they were all dreading the flash as they power away: 'Nope he hasn't taken a photo yet, AH my eyes!' Probably had the 580 flash head burnt onto their eyes all the way down the drag strip!

I like how that worked out with the remote flash. The guy on the bike in the first shot looks like he's about to go all the way over

Those photos aren't my best work and just event photos so they are fine with watermarks.

Hardly the case, the flash fires from the side and not directly into their eyes. Allot of those racers come out to race their everyday daily drivers and some come out just to get into those photos for this particular event. I usually get comments on "I didn't see a flash, please tell me you got a pic" which blows me away some times. Remember the tree is in the center the flash is opposite to the tree about 20 feet away, if your looking at my flash then you lost already cause in this event its the first to pass the line and not by times.

Ive been at this event and track for 3 years doing this.

He was Bandito member too, when I zoomed in on the high res I was checking out all his patches. Thats some sort of big motorcycle thing.

Sorry, but they dont convey the speed of drag racing for me.
The black and white truck works.
Just my humble opinion,
Pons

To me they do convey the essence of drag racing, which is intense starting line activity followed by a drive down the track. Of course, I am probably somewhat swayed by standing trackside near the starting line as they take aim at me as I peer through the lens.

The drivers tell me the same thing about the flash. It seems to be fairly rare for someone to even notice the flash and I use studio flash now.

Pretty damned good. The remote flash works a treat. If wheels up doesn't give you the feeling of speed, nothing will !

Nice shots! Where do you have the flash setup in relationship to where the cars were and you standing?

Well I actually move the flash on the stand a few times, but for most of those shots I have it about 10 ft. past the tree off on the side of the track.+ The aiming of the flash is key and takes a few shots to dial in. cFn 1 so it stays on.

I bet he saved it but I also bet he squished em on the tank. Must have been the track prep vht because he sure looks suprised that the sporty would come up like that.
