I spent last weekend in Florida covering the National Collegiate Paintball Association's National Championships, featuring more than 60 teams from around the country. I have a gallery of photos from the event on my site, www.pbpancho.com (external link)

The event was also filmed by Fox College Sports and will air this summer.

All photos were taken with a 40D and 70-200 2.8 IS or a 20D with Sigma 24-70 2.8. When possible I shoot at around 1/1250 of a second in order to free the spray like that.

Here are a few of my favorites:

you keep getting better, making me want to put down my marker and start shooting again. I look forward to seeing the magazine shots.

Thanks Mike, I have to balance shooting and playing as well, I wonder which is less expensive?

Well I get paid now for both so it is a tie for me with the exception I have to buy my camera gear. Playing is more fun by far but I would say that taking photos is what I am better at.

#1 would be unbelievable if it was horizontal pic but you can't always have everything. :/

Yeah, I know what you mean. I usually shoot vertically, and didn't really expect him to throw his arms out like that.

Love #1, makes me laugh.

Some people think that paintball is violent, they apparently don't play video games.
