Most of us use MF but they may not be necessary for closeups rather than Macro. For natural light shots use Tv or Av mode but if handheld obviously keep the shutter speed up via ISO. If using Flash then most will use M mode unless you want a fill flash effect. eg 1/200th ISO200, F11.flash in ettl.

Thank you for your advice / answer.
I generally use 75% of time Av mode - it is convenient for me to get what I expect

....but I wonder if maybe would be helpful any teleconwerter or similar additions.
What do you think about that ? /what do you recommend to buy to get (using this lens) the maximum sharpnes/ quality ?
Thanks in advance.
Mark.

If you want more magnification then I'd get a set of Kenko extension tubes. At the short end you'd get 1:1 magnification with a full set on.

A TC will work and give better working distances than ext tubes but will degrade the IQ.

Can only suggest you either use one of the Hong Kong EBAY suppliers or perhaps one of the German WEB photographic shops.
The Kenko ext tubes I mean are a 3 tube set obviously EOS fit ones.

The Kenko complete of 3 rings I've ordered today ;-)a

Honk-Kong is not good for me, because of additional costs: duty and tax while importing from outside of EU.
Thank You, Brian.
