How can I clean the viewfinder

It's not bad at all right now. But I know over my time owning the camera, I'm sure that sweat and other body oils have found their way onto the viewfinder. And, this is not the type of stuff that'll come off with a rocket blower.

Any tips?

Try RORfluid and a q-tip.

Be very carefull about what you use on the focus screen,some are extremely sensitive to certain fluids!
Much more so than lens coatings or mirror coating for example.
I know this from experience
I'd recommend getting an expert to do it
or
if you feel comfotable doing this-remove the focus screen and clean it with a weak lens cleaner.Having it outside the camera makes it so much easier

He said "sweat and body oils" -- I think he meant the OUTER part of the viewfinder, not the focus screen.

A liquid cleaner intended for camera lenses, used with a q-tip, should be fine for the outer part of the viewfinder (the part you put your eye up to).

If the internal focusing screen gets dirty with stuff that won't blow off with a rocket blower, you should take it to an authorized Canon service center or to a camera shop you have great confidence in.

Just taking it into your local Ritz Camera or Wolf Camera at the mall is NOT a good idea, in my humble opinion -- they'll probably just tell you to wait for the next firmware upgrade to take care of the viewfinder problem!

Yes, I do mean the outside of my viewfinder. I got some dust on the inside of one of my old DRebs, and I took it to Wolf. They told me that it's not cleanable at all. They have to send it to Canon to get that part replaced as a warranty repair.

I really wonder about these people sometimes.
