He said "sweat and body oils" -- I think he meant the OUTER part of the viewfinder, not the focus screen.
A liquid cleaner intended for camera lenses, used with a q-tip, should be fine for the outer part of the viewfinder (the part you put your eye up to).
If the internal focusing screen gets dirty with stuff that won't blow off with a rocket blower, you should take it to an authorized Canon service center or to a camera shop you have great confidence in.
Just taking it into your local Ritz Camera or Wolf Camera at the mall is NOT a good idea, in my humble opinion -- they'll probably just tell you to wait for the next firmware upgrade to take care of the viewfinder problem!
