Need help adapting "albinar" telezoom to 300d..

I just got an Albinar telezoom 85-205mm from a family member, and cant find a suitable adapter for it anywhere. The mount on the lens looks to be a ~42mm screw mount which i need to adapt to my 300d. Can anyone give me some help on this? I'm fairly new to using lenses from different manufacturers and could really use some pointers, helpful links, etc.

Also, i have a threaded adapter for it that adapts it from screw mount to canon female "T", is it possible to get a male-male adapter? Sorry if I sound ignorant in any way, but it never hurts to ask.

T mount adapters are essentially a thing of the past (ie the manual focus lens era)

Although it may be possible to adapt the lens,. your results will be crippled by no Autofocus.

Unfortunately "looks like a 42mm screw mount" doesn't give us much to go on.. but,. If you can get the lens to adapt to the semi standard "t-mount".. there are EOS to Tmount adpaters readily available at most camera stores.

I do know that there will be no autofocus, which is completely fine with me as I am quite used to them and dont plan on doing action shots or anything where fast focusing is essential. I also know that it is (for sure) a 42mm universal screw mount with .75mm threads. I will take a look around online and the shop where i bought my camera and see what people have to offer.

Search eBay for "M42 EOS adapter", you will find plenty of them in different flavours.

T mounts and M42 (i.e old pentax mount) are identical EXCEPT for the thread pitch and as such are not interchangeable

The Tmount has 0.75mm pitch threads,the pentax/universal screw mount has 1mm pitch threads
I wasn't sure about this so checked some old lenses and adapters i have here

So if you're sure they are 0.75mm threads then you have the T mount version.
EOS T mounts are available very inexpensively if you buy them at the right places.Be abit carefull-some shops charge an arm and a leg

I buy celestron or other cheap brands for au$33 (about us$25)

If by chance you do have the M42 screw mount version (or want such an adapter anyway) they are available cheaply on EPAY

btw... manual focussing on the 300d/drebel or even 10d is not a completely trivial task. i know in theory you simply adjust the focussing ring and take the shot, but the lack of a full size split focussing screen really sucks. hopefully you've adjusted your diopter exactly right for your eye and are composing your shot well enough to see the detail you are trying to get in focus.

i thought maybe i'm spoiled by af so i pulled out my trusty (and completely manual) pentax k1000 and with both primes and funky push/pull zooms i can focus easily and quickly on moving and stationary objects. oops, i noticed i have developed a chimping reflex histowhatsit?!

anyway good luck with the adapter. but i'm guessing it will simply get you excited enough to buy a decent tele lens
