I have been saving changes in ddp by just using the save file and when i view the picture in zoom in says that changes made in ddp will not be saved where am i going wrong Canon 6d, 7d2.

Thats the beauty of Raw, you can make the changes, then come back and make more changes from where you last left OR from the start. Once you make the changes and convert to Jpeg or Tiff those files (Jpeg or Tiff) will not be able to go back to the original photo settings.
