Hi everyone.

A friend and I are in the process of putting together a 2009 Car & Model calendar.

I have little to no experience with modeling photography. My primary interest is in the automotive photography industry. But we figured this would be a fun summer project.

All of the shooting will take place outdoors in the early AM (sunrise) or evening (sunset). Our goal is to use natural light & fill flash when necessary.

My question for you guys is what sort of equipment should I pick up before shooting begins (June)?

Right now I have:

Body:
EOS 40D

Lenses:
Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM
Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM
Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM

Accessories:
Bogen / Manfrotto 055XPROB Legs
Bogen / Manfrotto 488RC2 Ball Head

What you'll really need is a Lamborghini or two ;)

I prefer sunset, especially for models. They don't usually get up very early.

22mm might be a bit extreme if you have models in the shot & 70mm might be a little long except for profile shots?

I assume that you'll set-up the car first & then light the model if you have to?

I also have a 28-135 that I forgot to mention.

My partner in this shoots with an Olympus DSLR (which I know thing about) and has a variety of lenses, too.

But as far as lighting equipment goes, what should I be looking for? i.e. I will probably pick up one of those 5-in-1 reflectors

Never done any shooting like this, but I would say a cheap strobe (or two) and a flash would be usefull.

Depends on your working reflector-subject distance. You mentioned fill flash. With some (probably) warming gells & maybe a telephoto filter, these have worked for me for decades:
