Heh, good topic. I'm not sure what's worse, a really unusual name, or a variation on a spelling of a common name. My name would be the latter case.
My first name is Lisabeth. Looks like "Lisa" + "beth", but is prounounced like "Elizabeth" without the initial "E." Of course, it is spelled wrong more often than not. I could understand if people spelled it just like the traditional version, but it seems that people are always coming up with new and weird ways to spell it. In college I decided to start going by "Liz" to simplify things. People even get that wrong, spelling it "Lis." Whenever I use my credit card or driver license (which have the full spelling), I often get comments and questions about it. Oh well, makes life interesting!
