I am thinking of switching from my EOS SLR to the EOS Digital Rebel. Will my 540EZ Speedlite work with it? Do I need to buy the new Speedlite? What other accessories do you think that I would need? I have many EF & USM lens such as 70-200 f2.8, 24m f2.8, 35-70m f2.8, 100m Macro, etc. Will all these lens work for the Digital Rebel?

Sony A7R |E 10-18 f4 | FE 24-70mm F4 OSS Vario-Tessar T* FE | 55mm F1.8 ZA Zeiss Sonnar T* | EOS M | EF-M 22 f2 STM | EF-M 18-55 f3.5-5.6 IS STM |

Probably not. The EOS digitals need some -EX Speedlite to work correctly.

Unclear.

Do you mean the new Model 580EX, or do you mean a new Speedlite as opposed to a used one? Any -EX will work.

You will probably want four AA batteries.

If you intend to move this off the camera, then you will want the off-camera shoe cord 2 and then a good flash bracket.

I believe that just about any EF lens will work on a Digital Rebel.

I used A2s at work and switched to D30 thru 10D. Your 540EZ will only work full blast, or in other words doesn't work on a digital body. You will have to get an EX. All your lenses will work, but with the 1.6 crop factor...no big deal except for your 24mm not being that wide anymore (ie. 24 x 1.6 = 38.4, but your 200 is now a 320).
As probably most here, once you go digital, you won't go back.

The 540 EZ will only work in TTL and not ETTL ot ETTL II. You may want to get a EX series flash for it to work with ETTL. Also PM me if you are gona sell the A2 what do you want for it?
