Yesterday's game was a good one - a pitcher's duel - that ended in a 1-0 victory for the visiting team. Both teams played well on defense. There was not much offense in this game as the pitcher's controlled most of the game.

Here's a couple I managed to capture. The first one is a "slapper" doing her thing. The second is a mad scramble to field a slow bouncer and throw to first.

Great Shots! Was there any saturation added to the first one?

I assume you don't see much sliding into the bases with them wearing shorts.
Ouch!

I think they look very good. #2 looks like it should be cropped tighter though.

Very Nice.

Dunno if #2 should be cropped tighter but I'd change the crop so that the largest space is in the direction she's looking to throw the ball.

IOW, move her more to camera left...

Love the dynamic of the dirt. Shows she made a tough play...

Not sure, Kurt. If there was, it was ver little. The sun was low in the sky to camera right.

Yes they do. Ouch is right.

Cropping? I don't know about messing with number 2. Maybe tweak it a little like FP said.

I've qot a request of you mad croppers. Do you crop solely so it looks good on the computer regardless if it will print in 8x10 format? I can't figure out why everyone says crop tighter when you can't get that result printed on paper for the customer. I need your thoughts.
Thanks
Mike

I think they mean crop tighter for display here on POTN, you can keep your original file intact and crop as needed for prints later. For instance, here's #2 in an 8x10 ratio crop:

Still captures all the action without the extra background...

First one is a belter of an image-so much energy-and a lovely diagonal flow to the action-good work.

very nice images. I would have guessed college level. The girls do not look like high schoolers (muscle wise). Nice job.

A bunch of equipment with Canon on it and some stuff with Sigma on it. The desire to capture a moment in time and share it with you! :)
