Great pictures. It appears as though that lens/body combo may have some back-focusing issues. They all seemed a little soft but I wasnt sure until I saw the last one where the girl in the back is just tack sharp.

Well you can either...

Live with it
Send it in
Buy a MkIII

Whatever suits you the best haha. I mean, truth be told, all those images are sharper than anything ever was with film. And, if I hadnt seen that last picture, I probably wouldnt even have said anything about it. I wasnt sure if they were a little off or not until I saw that one.
I had the same thing happen to me with a 300 I was using. I shot an entire game and when I got home, all the pictures just looked a little softer than what I thought they should be. Sometimes I over-analyze things so I thought maybe I was just seeing things but then I saw that one shot where everything was clearly backfocused.

Wow. Now that you have said that I see a lot of my photos show just that. Thanks for picking that up.

I have the rest of the session to shoot plus graduation.

Option one is not an option.

Option 2 ( send it in ) If the camera is calabrated to one lenses what about the others? How long does it take?

If I took the plunge for option 3 how long would it take to get the hang of the Mark 3?

Thank, Paul

Not long. Once you have a Markk III, you will have a hard time picking up the 40D.

I dont know how long it takes them to calibrate stuff. Ive never had to do it. As far as getting a MkIII...I guess that all depends on if you want to spend the money.
I owned a 40D along with the MkIII at one point and theyre both very powerful and capable cameras. Ive seen many pictures taken with even a 20D that blow me away. If youre hesitant to spend the money on a MkIII, the MkIIN is definitely an amazing camera still and can be had for a good amount less.
