I'm in China right now and I don't have a users manual for my mkII. How do I create and name new folders on my cards? I'm downloading onto a portable hard drive but it won't let me paste the "same named" folder onto it...
Thanks all, much appreciated

I read thru the manual and it do not indicate how to rename the folder on the camera. It only instruct how to make new folders as follows:

My suggestion would be to try and connect the portable harddrive to the pc and rename the folders so that you may move your pictures from the camera to the harddisk.

But here is what I found.

Since you are in china and I'm not sure if you can dl the manual from canon usa site! if you can here (external link):

If you can't, here is the gest of it quoted from the manual pages 60 and 61:

1. Set the camera to the folder mode.
Hold down the <display>button and turn the <dial> to select the symbol "folder" on the LCD. Than let go of the button.
2. Create folder.
Hold down the <select> button and turn the <dial> to select create folder "option".
At this point CREATE FOLDER screen will appear.
Hold down <SELECT> button and turn the <DIAL> to select [OK]. Than let go of the button. A new folder will be created.

Regards.
