Ssame as above. They are floating, if they're that hot, they should be standing on lava. Perhaps start an alternate version of the poster where you have inverted, the writing on top, and the kids towards the bottom.

I like the idea though, glad my kid does not frequent these forums :)

Thanks, do you think the fire on the feet looks cheesy?

fire on the feet makes it awesome. I really like this one.

Funny how almost the same elements rearranged in a specific manner, can go from heh, to WOW !!... (This theory also explains the difference between Brad Pitt and me). ;)

I think this one is pretty much a keeper.

Good job, and thanks for sharing again.

Excellent Poster and well thought out. The one thing that bothers me is the use of a Serif font in the main text with the wiggles at the end. Try something like Impact or another sans serif font for a cleaner look.

Thanks for the comments and advise. I will change the font and upload a new version. I agree, it is funny that moving around some objects can change the entire feel of the poster.

Ok, here is the last one. I changed the font but tried to stay with something with a gothic feel to it as the mood of the poster is kind of dark. I want to thank everyone for their comments. Your help has allowed me to look at the work differently and I think the finished product is much better. Thanks!

Awesome job on this KR! Out of curiosity, what would you charge for a poster? I'm wanting to start doing posters too, and just am interested in an order of magnitude at this point. Thanks.

looks great. Now to take it to the next level:

The basketball hoop is just stuck in the lava but doesn't really look like it: it needs a shadow for reference

the lava should produce fire in other spots and not just the feet, that would make it look more natural, like the kids are in the lava, not on top and with their feet on fire.

The lighting needs to match more correctly. You need more dramatic lighting on the kids to make them match the background more. After all this is a very dramatic feeling poster.

The text is nice, maybe incorporating it more into the picture could add an extra touch, instead of text then pictures. And the names could be placed on the bottom of the players.

You can always shoot me the files and I can whip something up quick for example :) I love this stuff.

Keep up the great work.

Adam, I sent you a PM.

Tjketa, for a poster like this in a 12x18 size, I would charge $50.00 + $6.00 for each photo. It all depends on how much time it takes to do the poster. The price assumes that I have a template or idea down. With this poster, I am still getting my ideas down and learning. Most of my posters are sports related and not as complicated as this one.

Kyle.

Love the design, the otiginal photo of the guys posing is a real gem too! Is that a shot of the surf in the back ground? I like it! Looking forward to seeing more of your posters in the future!! Thanks for sharing.

The main question is, do the boys and their parents like it??

The background shots are lava and then another photo of clouds, no surf. I blended the two background photos together. Everyone loves the poster. I only wish I would have noticed the middle kid did not have his jersey tucked in.

Kyle.
