First time poster over here and of course it looks like there were quite a few of us in Peoria, IL last Sunday (4/19). Hope you guys did not get as sunburned as I did

As you already heard from Andy, haze, clouds, etc, etc were terrible that day. Everything was delayed while they stalled (no pun intended) to get the larger acts in the air. Most of the morning/early afternoon had a 1000ft ceiling, which means low shows, which are never the greatest. Not until early afternoon did the ceiling start to break and the big acts started to get fired up.

Was fortunate enough to get a ride up with the Golden Knights jump team. What a bunch of stand-up guys (and gals) there. Very, very fun to be a part of that . Thanks Greg!

Towards the end of the Angel's show the sky was really nice, short of some haze on those long shots but at least the inward shots were good and clear.

I will post a few in here but the full gallery of shots is here; http://www.webtrendsguy.com/prairieas/ (external link)

The haze was pretty bad up top so why not get creative with the shots I say and play with the colors

It is a great expierence to take a ride with the Knights and sit right at the open door the only downfall is at a big show is that you will miss a lot of the action ( airshow) as it does take time to get orientated and briefed and of course take off get to altitude and do their show and then return. On this day they just did a massive jump to squueze them in due to the delays from the lousy skies.

Nice shots Goat Roper ie Scott :)

Greg (ifixsharp on here) was unable to go up so I graciously offered to go...oh who am I kidding, I would have begged if he asked me to

Thanks evo, andrew and rccoulter. It was quite a view to say the least being that close to an open door. They are smart enough to strap you down twice (once for my protection, twice for theirs) and a nice strap on my camera but never once was a fearful of it, these guys are top notch.

Looking forward to Janesville here towards the end of May
