Jay,

I don't mind your rendition of the shot at all. You did a fine job of punching it up a bit and as amandajane noted about the time of day reference, that's pretty much the actual time of when this photo was taken, which I know is not the most ideal time to be out shooting with harsher overhead sun light. The original photo actually looks fairly similar to your rendition in fact.

Perhaps I should post that as well as a point of reference...
