DocFrankenstein - I enjoy the look and dynamic range of film. I also feel more fulfilled with photography with film because I have to make sure each shot is worth it. I can take 200 digital shots and keep maybe 60%, while with film Ill take a roll (36 exposures) and keep closer to 90%. Also I feel more satisfied when a roll of film comes out great than when digital shots turn out how I want. Digital also is too clean, I like the nitty gritty of film.

soadrockserver - You can get any of those films at B&H. Also just looking in your local camera store can yield some results most of the time.

LOL

Would you believe it if I told you that I dumped digital for the same reasons?

Cool blog btw

Doc - Great minds think alike :)

soad- Good deal, you'll love it. High contrast, good colors, little to no grain. Perfect daylight/ultra fast lens film.

This is a scanned slide:

The scanned image really doesn't do it justice. When projected properly, the sense of depth in this image will damn near give you vertigo!

Agreed. This was my reason for pulling out my EOS 650 and started shooting film again. It just feels great to really apply what I have learnt also.

Plus, full frame :D

I still have my 35mm camera, it's a great place holder on the shelf in my closet.

I used to shoot 35mm all the time, and to save money I would have my film developed & cut for $1.50 and scan it at home myself.

I took a b&w fllm photo class last year. I was shooting all assignments with Kodak 400 ISO film and found out that almost all of them were keepers from the technical point of view (not always artistic).

Here (external link) are some of the shots.

WOW! I really do like the nostalgic feel the noise brings from 35mm.

Is there a 35mm appreciation forum on here?

Good question.

Since im a newbie to 35mm, you may want to make a home for 35mm shooters.
