Hey Folks,
After doing a shoot in downtown Cleveland last week, I hung around a bit and was playing around a little...it was a nice night, I didn't have any place to go and I don't get into the "big city" all that often...you get the idea.

I got this image a short while after sunset. It wasn't "completely dark" out but close enough. I've gotten a number of shots of the Rock Hall here and in most cases they look like your average "tourist" shots so I wanted to try and get something just a little bit different.

Clearly there is some distortion in the lettering in the projection at the top of the Rock Hall...couldn't really do anything about that because it was...well...a projection. Beyond that, I guess my biggest questions are #1 Does it look straight? #2 Does it work as an over-all composition. In otherwords, what do you like and what don't ya like about this shot :D.

As for the specs, this was shot with a Rebel XT and a Tamron 28-80 f/3.5-5.6 lens. ISO 100, f/5.6 at 1 sec. I've only done minor adjustments in Photoshop...a little saturation (knocked down the yellows a little) a little sharpness, etc..

Comments, thoughts and opinions welcomed and encouraged!
Thanks!
Jim

1: it looks straight enough to me. 2. No - it doesn't quite work. I think it's generally good, but it lacks a point of interest. Would work much better with a rock fan or two in their concert T-shirts atop the stairs, or a muso with guitar case, a skateboarder doing his bit on the railings, or an old grannie even. Cheers, Tony

Hey Tony,
Thanks for the comments...I'm grateful. I guess some other foreground element might have helped but with a 1 second exposure, I'm not sure having a person in there would have been practical. Also this was shot several hours after the Rock Hall had closed for the day, so there really isn't a lot of foot traffic around there that time of evening anyways.

I had kind of thought the design of the building was interesting enough on it's own (I think it was designed by the same guy who designed the Louve in Paris) but I'll keep that in mind next time...maybe I'll bring one of my guitars along and add it to the composition :D.

Thanks again!
Jim
