Looking to rent a Canon 70-300mm f4.5-5.6 IS or a 70-200 4.6 L for 3 weeks. I am going to Oklahoma City and plan on doing alot of shooting. What lens would you choose and why? I have a pretty steady hand how hard is it to shoot the 70-200 L handheld in good light? I really don't plan on taking my tripod around everywhere would the IS be a better choice? I am so torn. LOL

Who would you rent from?

If you are outside in good light, the 70-200 will give you superior images. Once it gets darker, you ight wish you had the IS. What other lenses will you bring?

You know you can buy a 70-200 f/4L used for 450, use it, then sell it for 450 after your trip.

Ended up getting the 70-200 4.6 L for a month from Roger at lensrentals.com. He seemed like a really great guy.

Congratz have fun and just a side note, its an f/4 not 4.6. But have fun all together, its a great piece of glass.
