Today I decided I needed a new camera and want to go with a Canon. After looking at their website I can't decide on the 770 or 1100. I am just a basic photographer but I do love taking pictures of landscapes and sunsets. I was just curious for any advice on which one will be better?

I don't think you'd notice the difference in normal use. If I were looking at them both, I'd probably go with the SD1100 IS because 1) it's cheaper and 2) if the Canon USA site is right the SD770 takes a non-standard USB connector. 8 vs. 10 MP? Matters not unless you're doing billboards, and an SD isn't the best camera for that anyhow.

Go for the SD1100IS. You won't regret it. I can't fault mine.

ok thank you, since you have the 1100, can you tell me if the sunset feature on it is worth it? I had a Casio and loved the sunset feature cause thats mainly what I photograph and thats one thing I for sure want in my next camera

Yes the automatic "sunset" feature works really well. My wife has an Olympus and with photos taken at the same time with both cameras , there is no comparison. We agree that mine are by far the best.

I just got the SD750 and I love it. IS may have been nice, but this has produced some great images and price just wasn't fitting for what I could have gotten. The SD850 sells for $250 or less, the same as the SD1100 IS and the SD850 has better zoom.
