Fast lens and IS?

Hi all,

What are the fastest zoom lenses that have IS/OS? Besides the 17-55 and 70-200 2.8?

i think i saw a 200L f/2 is on there...i also think it's like 6k

It is also fitted with the very primitive Mark I foot-zoom mechanism... so really not much good to the OP.

Those two are it as far as fast IS lenses go.

As far as I know, those two are it as far as Canon zooms go (the rest are either f/3.5 or f/4 at the fastest). I don't know about the OS lenses (or VR, for that matter).

For fixed telephoto there's also the 300 f/2.8 IS and the 400 f/2.8 IS. Uber expensive, big, fantasic lenses.

Same, that's why I asked. I was mostly interested to see what other lens manufacturers had with their OS, VR, or whatever. But the list in the second post proved most helpful

yea, in may (probably) the canon 200mm f/2L IS will be released, making the best lens for low light and static subjects in the world. Though it will weigh 6.6 lbs lol. think of it as 909 bukcs a pound. Man, i thought almonds were expensive at 2.43 a pound!

Since Canon and Sigma make no zoom lenses faster than f/2.8, the obvious answer is that the fastest IS/OS zoom lenses that are available are f/2.8.

As someone else mentioned, there is one f/2 lens with IS, and so the EF 200/2L IS is the fastest IS lens (zoom or prime) available.
