Infinite Sharpness

I have a quick question to throw out there. I am not sure if this is possible or not. I am trying to get an "infinite Sharpness" look. Is there a way to get a really sharp background and a really sharp subject? Or maybe 2 shots? But how would they be combined? Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

Really small aperture or hyperfocus settings.

Small aperture will help do it. Also, the macro chaps use a technique called focus stacking. I'm not sure of the procedure though or if it will help you in this instance.

Get a point & shoot and only shoot distant things at the widest focal length.
