I just received some Sterlintek replacement batteries and they didn't come with the little caps to cover them when not in the camera? Does anyone know where to get those?

I bought some replacement batteries here in the UK and wanted the caps too. The reason I wanted them was so that I could keep note of which batteries were charged and which weren't (I have 4 batteries). I contacted Canon and the price for the caps for NP-E3 was £7 ($14) for 2. Now I just use strips of tape on my batteries which I pull off when I use them.

A Sucrets throat lozenge box holds 2x BP-511 quite nicely.

I know this may sound strange and dangerous, but I use a Altoids tin to store mine in.

I lined the inside wall where the contacts are with black electrical tape so it wont be bare metal there. Two can fit in there.

I wrote on the inside bottom "Charged" and "Spent".I try to keep both charged all the time, then when out in the field I grab the charged one, slide the other charged one down and place the used one in the Spent slot.Maybe I could have the charged facing up and spent facing down, that'ld work too, might be easier to remember.

I also have another one in the bag with the cover on it.

I only have one spare for the 20d, but my P&S has a few spares, the charged ones stay in the front pocket, the spent ones go into the main pocket or the side pocket.

I know this is an old thread, but thought I would put this link in here. This place sells about anything to do with batteries you can imagine, and they have the bp-511 contact covers.

Buy a bicycle inner tube, for the fat tires not the skinny ones, and cut some strips out of the inner tube. Slip them over the batteries and the contacts are insulated and the fit is snug enough so it won't fall off. Even the small inner tubes will work but it is hard to get the strip on and off the battery.
