have you ever shot in the dark before? if not... practice with your kit lens...it's widest apeture is 3.5 which WILL work @ ISO1600 but expect to get noise with high contrast shots. the only real thing you'll be missing with that it lens is the zoom range.

good luck... practice practice practice

You have a point.can I get a cheap knock off? thats better then the kit lens? I want wide angle.

That's not cheap mate. I was hoping for like $100-$200.

And I have shot in the dark before but I'm not good at shooting at night.

Well, since you can use your kit lens for the wide shots when there is still enough light, the alternative would be to spend less than $100 on a 50mm 1.8 so that you'd have something to use in low light, too. They'd be a good pair to have if you don't want to rent and you're looking to spend less than $100.

How about the new IS Kit lens? It's better than the original kit lens optically and the IS will aid you with handholding the slower shutter speed images in the evening.

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)

Thank you mate I'm looking at it right now. And I don't want to spend too much I will only have $2500 for my trip. and most of that will be spent on a kick ass standard SG.
