you wanna buy a couple more and sell them to me? I can't buy them in canada, and they don't ship them here. Add a small handling fee if you must...

I would just love to be able to remotely control the output from slaves

Its not because of shipping they wont ship world wide due to a thing called the law. Radio laws are very complex and detailed, EG using a EU PocketWizard in the USA is infact ilegal.

Damn laws. I hope they're pressuring the Canadian government bodies. Besides most of the tech we use here is identical to the states. so it SHOULD be easy

I am really anxious to see how these turn out! People definitely need to post reviews on them when they get them. They should put a function on them to turn off the ETTL function and just behave like pocket wizards. That's basically what they are... right? Pocket wizards using ETTL.

Can they be used with the STE2?

From what I've read on their website: Yes

It just can't come fast enough. I really don't want to bite the bullet for pocket wizards

?

Yes and No. The RPs pick up the electrical interference from the flash tube on-camera as it flashes control commands to the remote and transmit that to an optical connection on the remote flash. There is no hot sync (PC) connections on these, so they have to be used with light controlled flashes such as the Nikon SB and Canon Speedlites.

You can run the remote flashes in Manual mode from the on-camera master to bypass ETTL - but you cannot use the RP's without an on-camera ST-E2 or 550/580 to trigger the RadioPoppers. You also cannot use them to trigger studio strobes, as those require a PC Sync input which the RP's cannot supply.

What about a strobe like an alien bee with an optical sensor on it? Could you tape the fiber optic from the RP receiver over the AB's sensor to trigger it?

I just got confirmation that my set was sent to UPS for shipment. Who else got a set?

I can't wait, cause I've been messing around more with wireless ETTL with the ST-E2. I think I like the freedom to control A B ratios from the camera more than having to walk to each flash and set it manually... that and high speed shutter is just plain awesome.

Here is a review:

Enjoy! Lon

Most likely... not. The series of ETTL signals are sent before the flash should fire to configure the speedlites, this is different than the "fire when everyone else does" purpose of the AB optical sensors.

It's easy to test, though. Just try it without the RP's using an on-camera 580 to fire the Bees using the optical sensor. I'll bet that the ETTL pre-flash will cause the AB to fire and not have time to recycle before the main flash.

I think it said somewhere on the website that they would trigger even using the pop-up flash on the camera bodies....so TECHNICALLY, you wouldn't even need a 550/580/st-e2. I would imagine that, in this case, they would operate more akin to PWs

I was given a May 11th ship date. Hoping they will be here soon.

This is incorrect for Canon bodies. It will only work with a n*k*n camera's on-board flash with the CLS(?) dealy bobber thingy they have.
