Got my set in the mail today, and first impressions are pretty good. I spent most of my time trying to figure out the best way to mount the receivers to my 430 and 580 flashes. Fiberoptic cable is a bit shorter than the picture shows on the radiopper.com website, but no biggie. Also, I figured out that the fiber optic cable can be easily taken out of and put back into the bead at the end of it. This makes for ease of removal/portability, as I can peramanently keep the bead attached to the flash and just undo the cable itself.

Will mess around with the poppers more before making a final decision. So far, so good, though. YAY!

I had the opportunity to play with the poppers outside with my dog. Kept it simple:

580EX II, ST-E2, 50/1.4.. exif should be intact

I have to say these things work as suggested. Flash placed camera right about 15 feet away, I was shooting directly into the sun (actually sunlight was SLIGHTLY camera left), shutter speeds were well above 1/1000, and the signal did not fail at all.

And here he is w/o the flash for comparison

Verdict? I LOVE THESE THINGS!

Sooo jealous! Great shots, too! That's impressive to be shooting successfully at 1/1000

A better comparison would have been flash shots with and without the RadioPopper. ;)
