my recommendation, assuming your cat goes outside, would be to take a similar shot from a trickling garden hose if he/she would play along . . . that way you could blur the background and I think make for a more compelling shot.

Edit: actually, this may be a bit difficult with your Powershot. But, you could always add blur in Photoshop.

I agree...natural light is always better...my cat is an indoor cat though~

it was in "auto" macro..& every time i went to snap her pic she would move!~~Grrrrrr
