Well I'm bored out my mind so will post some pics, EXIF should be embeded, captions come free for a limited time only. Doubleheader today, first a AAA game to shoot and then going to coach my team at an away game.

#1 - Lots of talk about BOB lately, this however is the type shot that sells for me the most to magazines and the like.

#2 - Hi BOB, I'll get no $$ for this image, I bet ya $20.

#3 - This guy kept yelling at me like I did something wrong, couldn't make it out, sounded like Ike....Mike with a studder maybe?

#4 - Of course the next shot with the ball being released and the SS being up-ended was out of focus...

#5 - I got there 30 seconds late, shot this from sitting on the coaches lap and realized it's snowing. Yes, snowing...so much for the weather man's "perfect day" forcast. Lets look at the mechanics, delivery out in front, glove tucked, good extension, isn't two color on the pitchin arm illegal?

#6 - Now look at the strike foot location, release....too bad he just hasn't had it since getting hurt, working his way back from surgery.

#7 - The fans had a good time makin fun of his grip, to bad for the home town fans that he had a no-hitter through 4 and dominated them big time. They needed something to rant about.

#8 - When I say this is directly into the sun I mean it is DIRECTLY into the sun, just above his cap it was there annoying me. We had a rough one, my spot starter cruised until taking a line drive off his arm and had to come out. Brought in our #1 and he didn't fair well somehow and blew the lead, this is our #2 and his delivery looked funky so I brough out the gear to take a closer look - then pulled him...for our OF'er who rarely pitches, and then just gave our closer an inning to end the misery.

DANG!!!! as you can probably tell, I'm trying hard to get a shot like #1 in... got a qn, is that shot in portraiture or landscape orientation?

Landscape, this field is kind of farther than most so shooting portraiture has some difficulties...so for this field I shoot hitters in landscape, pitchers mix it up. Most other fields though I dont as they're closer.

Scott,
Naw, that would be my sarcasm (patent pending) - he was yelling strike ;) I noticed he kept looking/pointing directly at me so when I saw the strike in frame shooting the batter I just turned to the ump quick to get that shot. I always try to get ump shots as a few have gotten a hold of me going "you probably don't but do you happen to have any shots with me in it?".

As for the oof shots at short, my 300's focus isn't working right and I didn't send it in like I should have since I couldn't get to UPS with no time on my hands. Now have to find another 4 days in a row of not shooting and send it in and hopefully get the 3 day service from CPS...I saw this play coming, used a higher focus point so it didnt pick up on the runner, my lens just went oof.

I remember you telling me about that focus issue now that you mention it. still laughing at the ump shot though but only since knowing you, I could actually see you mixing it up with an ump!:lol::lol:

I usually save that for the umps when I'm coaching. We've had some nice ones this year, I think one of them actually had a little sight in his left eye...but just the one. :)

Hey Ronnie, I got to know some umps in the NYPenn League a couple years ago and been shooting them since as you never know. I'm about to put in for a loan of a 400 n Mark III to test out...which has nothing to do with umps, just sayin :)
