Pity its out of focus, badly composed, the background is messy and the highlights are blown out..Otherwise,,,,,

I assume that is your kitten:
you could probably take some time and get a much better image in a similar situation. I am just starting out as well, so when I need to take a picture that is technically difficult I take a lot of pictures at a variety of settings. That way you can get one to turn out well, and by comparing them you can learn what works best.
