With the recent shocking rise in fuel (petrol/gas) costs at the pumps
, just really curious as to what people are paying in the various parts of the world per Litre/Gallon. There are one or two sites offering similar comparisons but they only cover europe and a way out of date.
Are the UK's prices really as bad as we think? (I have a sneaking suspicion they are!)
Maybe you could quote Petrol and Diesel prices, so I'll start the ball rolling....
Locally petrol is 110p per litre (= £4.90 per gallon)
Diesel is 120p per litre (= £5.35 per gallon)
(to convert Litres to gallons I'm multiplying by 4.454)
Currently in the UK the cost of a litre of fuel (petrol) is roughly made up as follows:-
Product = 33 pence
Retailer = 9 pence
Duty = 51 pence
VAT = 17 pence (Yes, in the UK we pay VAT on t5op of the Duty!!)
Total 110 pence per litre.
