Thank you all for the great tips as to where to go. I actually had a really great time.
I ate at Henry's twice because the food was so good. I would almost put it in the top 5 of places I've eaten. Good prices too..
Here are a few shots I liked from the trip. And I was surprised at all the Zombies.. Felt safe the whole time though. Thanks again..

Sorry if this is to many images, but I literally have hundreds, and had a great time.. You all are lucky..

You got some very nice shots -AP-, Glad you had a great time visiting Jax. Where was the shot on the left taken at? I would like to shoot some there myself.

Very nice pics! Best I've seen Jacksonville look...ever! I must ask, where is that red lighthouse at? Can't be here in town.

haha, yeah the fountain seems to be a common prop to make the skyline look a little more interesting. I'm glad the zombies didn't get you in your travels while you were down there!

Nothing for me for a bit, I've got a wedding coming up in a month, so I'm gonna be busy for a little bit. November is the Jax air show which i'll be at one way or another but on the website they specifically say no lenses over 6 inches, so it'd be pointless for me to go if I can't bring my 100-400L. Certainly can't shoot an airshow with a 100 macro. Dec comes savannah, but in January I'm going to Paynes Prairie for some nature shooting (hopefully, ask "inthedeck" about our curse.) but they had a flock of 5000 sandhill cranes with some wild whooping cranes mixed in, so chances are pretty good! haha.

Anyway, that leaves the Airshow and Paynes Prairie. Possibly a trip to the alligator farm to snap some mating-plumaged egrets, but who knows about that.

Anyone else with interest to these two events?

October, forget it. no time. ;)

November, first two weeks are sorta booked, right now. As for nature outings, maybe if there's a model involved. ;)

Though, I'd be willing to meet up somewhere any evening, as long as it's not a weekend. :)

HeHe, I'm gonna ignore the rule for lens at the show..I will be working the show most of the weekend any way...but who's to say I won;t be able to get close up to the planes while they are parked.

Manish,

Hows the model work going? Been so busy with work lately haven't had time to do much shooting other than weddings and portraits...not many models ..look for the set i posted in GN a couple of weeks ago. Hit me up some time.

See, most can't really just risk ignoring it since they're charging people like $20 to park at TPC and they'll bus people in. Mind you, I have permission to park at a house on 5th street, so I'm set, but I think I'll only be able to make it Sunday. I just learned today that they are having the Daytona Historic Races that weekend too, so I'll probably be down there for that thurs-sat.

Model work sucks here in Jax. You know that. ;) This is why I've been travelling, as much as I can, to source better models. :)

Atlanta is next month...should be fun...as long as everyone shows. ;)
