Mom always said if you dont have anything nice to say then dont say it.

I never listened to her.

I really dont like this, sorry, and I know you are going for abstract....which u nailed it.
I would like to see the horizon, and then perhaps a mirror image below the horizon line. Maybe keep some of the water lines in.

Reminds me of a child's crayon drawing! Take that as you will.

I think it's fine. Be good on the back of a surfing T-shirt. Cheers, Tony

I'm afraid I have to agree with the general consensus here...I'm not terribly fond of it. I -think- the biggest thing I'm having an issue with is all the white. As tonydee said, on a "surfing t-shirt" this would probably be outstanding and I could even see it being used as a logo of some kind ("The 2008 Huannakia Hang Ten Championship") , but as a stand alone image I don't think it works too well. Now that's not to say the "concept" is bad...I do have an appreciation for abstract. Personally, I'd try inverting the image (maybe do it as a black light poster?) and bringing back a little more detail...the design is just a little too basic.

Anyways, just my thoughts,
Peace,
Jim

I can see what it is, I just don't like it. This is not my cup of tea in general, but this is worse than most of this genre. I don't see the point of this. It doesn't say anything, it just sits there plain and boring.

As far as a decorative design or pattern is concerned, I think that it is neat and things like that have potential for uses in a lot of places (such as t-shirt decoration). However, I think that you do not quite have a handle on the meaning of abstract art. Photoshop effects do not make an image into abstract art.

I think tonydee and Bill Boehme are on the right track. It is good enough to put on a T-shirt and could make some serious money.

I call this one "Photography" because in my limited experience as a photographer, what we do is see the same thing everyone else sees, but just a little differently. The top of the picture is actually the horizon, and all that stuff at the bottom that looks like an eight year old drew in with a box of crayons are the clouds. I saw a sunset, something we all see everyday, I just saw it differently. It is supposed to be different, and not everyone is supposed to like it, just as photography as an art is different and something not everyone will like. If you don’t like it that is absolutely fine, you are not going to offend me, but there are reasons why I took this picture and why I processed it the way I did.
