Could you please say which camera you are using when you post the pics, would be very useful.

I picked up a Rebel XT recently. I was told it was hardly used in all this time. Maybe 3-7K shutter actuations. No easy way to verify shutter count. It is a very small body compared to the current xxD line though. Very awkward to use with bigger/heavier lenses. Nothing to grab onto. :p

In the past week or so I have used the XT with various lenses. I know the camera is capable of capturing decent pictures. However, I just find myself deleting most of mine. Not very sharp in general. Anyone get any decent macro shots with an XT? I can't (at this moment in time anyways).

I picked up a new 50mm today. This will be the go to lens for this body. I don't plan on changing it often. I hope to prove myself wrong and start capturing a higher rate of keepers. Once I do I will be back here to post some. :D

One thought I had was to convert this to a IR+VISIBLE light camera. Any comments from current / previous XT owners regarding this matter? I already have a filter for blocking all but IR light. But, is a filter available to blocks IR light in case I want to take regular pictures?

Thanks up front for your help.

Cheers!

I'm in Canada. Isn't that weird!

The XT is capable of very nice shots, as demonstrated by this thread. Was the 50mm you picked up the EF 50 f/1.8 ii, or a different one? If the 1.8, you might want to take a look at this thread https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=186207, and also consider getting a macro adapter for close-up shots like these https://photography-on-the.net …p=10472013&postcount=7883 - his post has the name of the macro adapter he's using. I'm thinking of getting one for my 50 1.8.
