Hi y'all

i thought it was prime time to share since i'm lovin this site (no duck yet)

this is an image that i took at my daughter's dance class some time ago with my Xti - i have a 5d now and i'll be going to dance class with her next week - hoping for some great shots with the 5d.

i processed it a bit with LightZone (external link) using my own take on the orton technique digital method (external link)

i love the idea, but the crop isn't working for me....to much dead space on the right.

The space on the right doesn't bother me so much. I know what you're going for, but I'd recommend cropping a bit higher. While the reflections look interesting, they aren't take-up-half-of-the-shot-interesting :)

I appreciate the feedback!

I posted this particular image to find out what other photographers thought about it. I sell my photos online (thru shutterstock (external link) (yes, there's a referral link in there) and other places as well and this is one of my top selling images there (the non-orton version (external link) has sold 525 times)

So, yes, i think i'd agree that there's maybe more reflection stuff, but i also specifically framed it this way to increase possible sales to places that would use the image as a banner or an ad - figuring they could use that reflection space for text. Kinda like this:

Well, yes. That's a good reason to frame it so ;)
