If I'm going to be inside, it's really easy to bring my XTi and 50 1.8. Small camera and small lens mean people don't give you too strange looks and it's easy to carry around and use wherever. Also great for low light without flash, despite it being a little tight. I have a small case too, so I could carry a zoom lenses and a battery or card if I'm out for longer.

All Gear| Canon 50D | Canon Rebel XTi | EF 17-40mm f/4 L | EF 24-105mm f/4 L | EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS | EF 50mm f/1.8 | EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 | 580EX II
Nikon EM | 50f/1.8 | 100 f/2.8 | Speedlight SB-E

How often & what occasions do you usually bring your camera out?

Most gatherings, parties, street events, that sort of thing.

Do you attract attention when you bring it around?

Yes. I don't want the attention, but I get it anyway. The small groups get over it fairly quickly though, and that's when you get the good shots.

Do you bring more than 1 lens? Zoom or Prime? Focal length?

Depends! If I'm expecting to be able to concentrate a little on shooting I take a bag with a few lenses in it, from 24 to 200mm, with a prime or two too. And always a 580EX. If I'm just out, and thinking that I may be able to do some shooting, I'll typically take either the 70-200 2.8 on its own, or a 24-70/24-105 and a prime (either 50/1.4 or 85/1.2).

Do you put it in a "stealthy" bags such as crumplers, hang it by the neck strap, put it in a bag that's it's obviously a camera bag?

Generally in a Toploader 75AW or Slingshot 300AW.

Do you bring for "fun" (you don't want to miss a shot that you like) or work (you don't want to miss taking a shot you can sell)?

Fun. Hopefully! Depends on how much negative attention I get.

I carry my 5D just about everywhere I go. Too much a habit after lugging around film cameras and a wide assortment of lenses for over 30 years. However, I'm judicious about which lenses I carry.....have settled on my 24-105L IS as my "walk-around" lens.

BTW DDWD10, since when are Aggie games at Kyle Field ".....standing shoulder-to-shoulder with others for a couple of hours" the case? Every game I've been to has been almost four hours of standing.....
