haven't seen many with a charger yet - are you all going to be carrying 4Kg paperweights after a couple of weeks?

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

5D 900g
17-40 and 70-200 F4 is 1250g
1.4x 200g
Tripod 1kg
Both flashes 750g

Comes in 100g over your limit. If you were willing to go 400g over your limit I agree with others that a rebel body instead of the 1.4x TC would be good.

neither are clothes and toiletries... guess those are under another type of consideration.

this thread is pretty good, I assume that the average carry-on weight for international flight is 7Kg... 4Kg of equipment + a laptop (about 2kg) and the weight of a good padded bag... you'd end up in the ballpark of 7kg.

With fuel prices this high, more and more airlines would be stringent on the weight factor to save cost.

this is where fat people like me have advantage... it's already paid for by thinner people. since all pays the same tix price, but only we fatter ones fully utilise the fare. :D
