This is a photo of a stone angel that was in front of a fountain outside of Union Station in Washintgon, D.C. She was very beautiful and so graceful...

Thanks Bob. Here's another photo that I took while I was there of the Lincoln Memorial..
My first attempt at a night-time shot. Yes, it was a day of trying new things. ;o)

The black background really makes it pop. I like it as opposed to a grey background.

Your picture of the Lincoln Memorial is outstanding!

I especially like the deep blue sky and the exposure. You got a good compromise tonal range for the middle tones that really brings out the detail.
The fact that the foliage in the foreground is completely silhouetted is not a problem.

Congratulations!

I normally do not like structures for which I cannot see the foundation and ditto for converging verticals. However, you get away with it here because it is a perspective with which everyone is familiar.

I am too.
That's because it's where all us old-timers started out. I learned film development and simple print making on an APA in the Dental X-Ray room which we converted to our photo lab so we could have pictures for our Cruise Book. That was in 1954 on the way to the Med.

Cheers!
