Promaster sells the same cord, I have one of those plus the new canon one.
It looks to me that the Promaster has a wheel lock and not a lever lock like the Canon OC-E3. Can you confirm that?

Was there a make on the box, just in case it's available through a different seller? Mike ![]() Sorry no make on it. It didn't come in a box. It came very OEM Technical perfection is only ever important if it improves the asthetic. It is not the precursor to beauty. Not in art..not in music and not in photography!

msowsun "approx 8mm" More info | Jun 06, 2008 13:26 | #18 I just received my "Fake" OC-E3 and am happy to report that it is almost identical to a real Canon OC-E3. I went down to a local camera store to compare them side by side. msowsun wrote in post #5616224 I just ordered one of these for $34 including shipping to Canada. http://cgi.ebay.com …Q_trksidZp1713.m153.l1262 I really like the lever lock and the metal shoe. It looks EXACTLY like an authentic Canon OC-E3. I noticed that some of the Canon's say Made in China and some say made in Japan. Maybe these "Yongnuo's" are made in the same Chinese factory? ![]() Mike Sowsun / SL1 / 80D / EF-S 24mm STM / EF-S 10-18mm STM / EF-S 18-55mm STM / EF-S 15-85mm USM / EF-S 55-250mm STM / 5D3 / Samyang 14mm 2.8 / EF 40mm 2.8 STM / EF 50mm 1.4 USM / EF 100mm 2.0 USM / EF 100mm 2.8 USM Macro / EF 24-105mm IS / EF 70-200mm 2.8L IS Mk II / EF 100-400 II / EF 1.4x II

It took exactly 7 days to arrive and cost me £21 delivered. I don't have the real McCoy for comparison but the build does seem good, it has the 580EX II type lever connection and all flash controls seem to work as expected. The best UK price for the Canon original would be around £40 or more including delivery. The cord is a perfect length for using a flash bracket without trailing wires everywhere or needing to wrap it around the bracket arms.

I went down to a local camera store to compare them side by side. The materials and craftsmanship seem to be exactly the same. The actual Canon OC-E3 I looked at said made in China, but I have also seen photos of other Canon OC-E3's that say made in Japan. The "replica" says "Yongnuo Inc. Made in China". The box is slightly larger than a real Canon box, and it even has a large fold out multi-language instruction sheet that looks just like the original Canon sheet. Near the bottom of the box, it says "for Canon" It is a little creepy, because if they left off the Yongnuo name, and put Canon instead, it would be extremely difficult to tell the difference. Just like fake Gucci handbags and such. Here in Canada the local camera stores are selling OC-E3 for $100-120 plus tax which equals about $115-135 total. B&H sells them for $69.95, but by the time I pay shipping, and Canadian taxes, it would work out to about $100. I paid $35 to have it delivered to my door in 7 days without any taxes or duty! So far it works just as well as an original I will let you know if there are any problems or interesting observations in the future. I was going to get the other one mentioned, but instead went and bought one of these after you mentioned about them. It sounds from your description that the lead is good quality for the price. Just waiting for mine to turn up now!
