Hi guys, I'm planning a trip to Costa Rica which will consist of lots of ATV riding through the jungles. I was warned that whatever I decide to take with me, will most likely get submerged under water at one point or another. I guess we will be crossing lots of rivers. What would be the best solution? I must have my camera and lenses with me at all times. I thought of zip locks but there has to be a better way to protect my stuff. Whatever it is, it has to be 100% water proof and sealed.

Pelican Boxes or similar would suit this best.

Rugged, fully waterproof, portable.

Similar to Pelican, I had an old one for my ipod that worked fine, no experience with the bigger boxes though.

Another option is a drybag, which is what the rafting guys use.

They're not as bulky as a Pelican.

I think this is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks much!

ya, otterbox is awesome but they stopped making the larger boxes

Now they just have the specialized phone/ipod/laptop cases, which are still awesome ;)

Oh wow, I wonder why? That explains why I couldn't find the bigger boxes. I assumed I was looking at the wrong section, but that they were somewhere in there. Maybe they didn't sell well enough?

Drybags are great. I had them on a kayaking trip. I dumped the kayak in the open ocean, and my phone, sleeping bag, clothes, P&S camera were all fine.

I actually have a close relationship via PR with them. They said that it was mostly due to wanting to focus more on specialty rugged cases since other big names were already in the box market and had very similar products and wider selections of the boxes (Pelican, etc.).

They are a great company though! Very nice people and highly recommended.

Ah, interesting. Thanks for the info, I suppose it does make sense. Yeah, a few years back they had waterproof iPod cases for $5, I bought two! Great for the beach, too bad that iPod is long broken now.
