Zoom with feet--or zoom lens with OS?

I am seeing a great nephew for the first time tonight. He is two years old. Do I take Sigma 30mm f/1.4 and zoom with my feet, or do I take Sigma 18-200 OS and rely on the zoom feature of the lens and OS to make up for the slow glass? I don't want to use flash--we are going to be in a nice Mexican eatery and the lighting is so-so. I am leaning towards the 30mm as I foresee a few shots, eat and leave. Tomorrow I may get to play with the other lens, but for moment, I am thinking the prime for a few good shots before and during the meal. What say ye wise ones?

18-200 is a slow lens, unless you want a lot of blurry shots dont take the 18-200, even 2.8 zooms struggle indoors with so so lighting

Take both but mount the 30. If you do a posed group shot, you may need the additional width of the 18-200.

Thanks all--I took the 30 only but we got seated in very dark part of the restruant with mixed lighting. I took a few shots at f/1.4 and ISO 3200 and they were not good--I needed a tripod but no way could I get a wiggly 2 year old to sit still when he's crabby and tired and on a different time zone! Tomorrow he will be at my house in daylight, so it should be OK. In the better lit parts of the restruant, the 30 worked well even at ISO 1600 during some test shots--it is definately the one to use with no flash in dim light--my first time using it in a resturant. No bragging shots though!

Wow it must've been really dark for you to have been unable to get a good shot at ISO3200 and f/1.4!

Some restaurants really turn down the lights for dinner time, not a photogs best location!
